AL PESSO BIOGRAPHY
Albert Pesso, President of the Psychomotor Institute, Inc. and co-founder of Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor Therapy (PBSP), with his wife, Diane Boyden-Pesso.
He has been Consultant in Psychiatric Research at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Boston, Director of Psychomotor Therapy at the New England Rehabilitation Hospital, Boston, MA and Director of Psychomotor Therapy at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA.
Presently, he conducts training programs for psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and other therapists in eleven countries and throughout the USA He also lectures at universities, hospitals and clinics and for professional organizations worldwide.
He is the author of, "Movement in Psychotherapy; Psychomotor Techniques and Training", New York University Press, 1969, "Experience in Action; A Psychomotor Psychology", New York University Press, 1973 "Dramaturgie des Unbewusten" (Dramaturgy of the Unconscious) Klett-Cotta (Stuttgart, Germany) 1986, Co-author, with Willy van Haver, of: "Het Gekwetste Zelf" (The Wounded Self) Acco (Leuven, Belgium) 1990. Co-editor with John Crandell of: "Moving Psychotherapy: Theory and Applications of Pesso System/Psychomotor Therapy", Brookline Books, 1991 Co-author with Tilmann Moser of "Strukturen des Unbewussten" (Structures of the Unconscious) Klett-Cotta (Stuttgart, Germany), 1991. Albert Pesso is author of numerous articles on Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor. He is currently completing a book Holes in Roles addressing the application of PBSP principles to family system fissures and fractures.
With neuroscientist colleagues, he is presently in the process of evaluating data in a brain research study in Prague using fMRI scanning technology to measure the effects of PBSP on clients with a history of trauma.
